A New Era of Giving: Launching the Be.Social Community Program in New Jersey

When we opened Social Dispensary’s doors in New Jersey, we knew we wanted to bring more than just premium cannabis products to the community. We wanted to bring purpose. That’s why we’re thrilled to launch the Be.Social Community program here in the Garden State—a charitable giving initiative designed to harness the power of cannabis retail for local good.

This quarter marks the start of something special: our first round of community giving in New Jersey, with proceeds benefiting the Retired Police Officers Charity Organization (RPOCO). Paired with our first group of participating brands—Wyld, Pyramid, Doinks, Rejuv, Grande Ricardo, and Zoobies—this campaign is proof that we can come together as an industry and as a community to create real, lasting impact.

What Is the Be.Social Community Program?

The Be.Social Community program is a grassroots charitable initiative launched by Social Cannabis. The idea is simple: when you purchase cannabis products from participating brands at our dispensaries, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to a local nonprofit organization.

In Colorado, where Be.Social was born, we’ve raised over $70,000 for charities supporting everything from cancer survivors and food banks to veterans and youth services. Now, we’re bringing that same community-first energy to New Jersey.

How It Works

Every time a customer purchases a product from one of our participating brands, 50 cents from that unit is set aside for donation. At the end of the quarter, we total the proceeds and cut a check to a featured local nonprofit.

We rotate our featured charities each quarter to highlight different issues and serve a variety of causes—from public health and veteran support to food insecurity and housing. This quarter, all proceeds from New Jersey sales of Wyld, Pyramid, Doinks, Rejuv, Grande Ricardo, and Zoobies will benefit RPOCO.

Why We Chose RPOCO

RPOCO, or the Retired Police Officers Charity Organization, stood out to us for a number of reasons. First, it’s local—founded and operated by New Jersey residents who deeply understand the needs of retired officers in our state. Second, it fills a vital gap. While active duty officers often have access to support systems and benefits, retirement can bring isolation, financial strain, or health challenges. RPOCO steps in to make sure those who protected our neighborhoods aren’t forgotten.

Through community programming, emergency assistance, and advocacy, RPOCO is a critical resource for the men and women who gave so much of themselves in service. We believe strongly in supporting their mission—and with your help, we will.

We’ve also installed a clothing and shoe donation bin at the Bridgeton Social Dispensary location to provide customers an additional way to give. Donated items will go directly toward helping RPOCO support those in need, adding a new dimension to our campaign that goes beyond dollars and into direct action.

You can also donate shoes or clothing on-site at the Bridgeton location, providing direct support for RPOCO’s outreach programs.

This is just the beginning. Over time, we plan to feature a rotating roster of nonprofits throughout New Jersey—spotlighting causes that matter to our customers, staff, and neighborhoods. We want to partner with organizations doing vital work in housing, education, public safety, racial justice, mental health, and more.
