Hunger remains a pressing issue in many communities, including Boulder and Broomfield Counties. For over four decades, Community Food Share has been at the forefront of combating food insecurity. Established in 1981, their mission is clear: to eliminate hunger through engagement, collaboration, and leadership.
A Legacy of Impact Community Food Share’s robust approach involves rescuing surplus food, partnering with 43 local agencies, and distributing nutritious groceries directly through onsite and mobile pantries. They distribute over 27,000 meals daily, enough to feed everyone at a sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheater three meals a day. Since 1981, Community Food Share has provided an extraordinary 206 million meals.
Sustainability Through Food Rescue A significant aspect of their work involves food rescue—saving safe, surplus food from going to waste. In 2024 alone, they rescued approximately 3.85 million pounds of food from grocery retail partners, redirecting it to nourish those facing hunger and reducing environmental impact.
Your Donations Make an Impact Cash donations significantly boost Community Food Share’s ability to provide meals. Remarkably, every $1 donated allows them to supply $5 worth of groceries, directly translating your generosity into essential nourishment for countless community members.
