What Dry Sift Actually Is
Dry sift is loose trichome heads collected by mechanically tumbling cannabis flower across a series of fine-mesh screens. The trichomes — the tiny resin glands that carry most of the plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes — break off the flower and pass through the screens, while plant material stays on top.
The finest screens collect the purest trichome heads (the ‘full melt’ grades). Coarser screens collect heads with more contamination — stems, plant particles, bigger chunks. Dry sift quality is measured by how many of those heads you capture versus how much plant matter sneaks through.
